Good day

Well tonight I spent some time on one track.  I started later this evening than planned but got totally consumed in it for a while.  In the end I spent only about thirty minutes the track and I was surprised how far I advanced the track in this time, a load of stuff got done.  I looked at the clock and was surprised how little time had gone by relative to the amount of good sounds I had turned out.  The trick seems to be just starting and the rest will flow - once I just get started and forget about everything else, the songs practically write themselves.  If I can ignore junk like Facebook this will help - I have downloaded an internet blocking application that will block out the internet between certain hours, so I will have no distractions.

My target sub-goal at the moment is to get this one track completed by the end of this week.

This is my goal

My goal for 2012 is to make a short demo album of music I'm writing, made of six tracks.  I would like to get this completed by June at latest.  In the past year I have found it difficult to commit fully to the goal and I hope that by publicly writing up my sub-goals and progress as I go, I will be able to get this mother done.  Initial sub-goal is to complete three tracks, which are already going well, by end of this month.  More progress updates in coming days.  Even if no one reads this, my aim is to publicly declare what I'm doing so that I stay focused.
